JOIN PENINSULA RAIDERS MASTERS
Welcome to the Peninsula Raiders — a friendly, warm and welcoming community club for players over 35 who love the game. We play Super Rules every two weeks and train together every Wednesday. Whether you want to compete, stay fit, or just be part of a welcoming club, there’s a place for you here.
The Peninsula Raiders were established 1996. Our home ground is at Alexandra Park in Main Street, Mornington. We are the AFL Masters representative team on the Mornington Peninsula. We field teams in the Supers (Men’s and Women’s) & Supers Reserves (both over 35s), an over 45s team and an over 50s team.

what is super rules?
Masters (Superules) AFL Football is a social, age-restricted version of Australian Rules designed for older players (commonly 35+ or 40+, depending on the competition). Key points:
- Age-based community competition emphasizing fitness, fun and camaraderie over elite performance.
- Modified rules to reduce injury risk and physical intensity: tighter restrictions on heavy contact (no sling tackles, no charging/bumping, stricter high-contact penalties), often shorter quarters, and sometimes reduced ground size or team numbers.
- Rolling substitutions and flexible participation to suit varying fitness and availability.
- Family- and club-focused culture — social events, volunteer roles and spectating are all welcomed.
- Organized locally, regionally and nationally with clubs running training, games and events; specific rule sets vary by league, so check your local Masters/Superules competition or the Peninsula Raiders for exact rules.
The Peninsula Raiders brings together experienced players who value skill, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Our focus is enjoyment, fitness, and camaraderie — with competitive Super Rules fixtures on a biweekly schedule and regular midweek training to keep skills sharp. No pressure to play every match: join for training, social events, or as a supportive club member.
